Business Interruption Claims
A business experiencing an interruption in operations, with appropriate insurance coverage, will find it necessary to prepare a claim for the loss. While this seems a simplistic assignment, it involves an understanding of insurance policies as well as loss calculation methodologies. These claims are contractual claims and, in most circumstances, are governed by the terms of the policy.
Marcie Bour, the team leader for the development of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts' Natural Disaster and Other Business Interruption Losses Workshop, has the necessary understanding to prepare these claims. She has extensive experience in preparing business damages and has worked on a number of claims.
