A business experiencing an interruption in operations, with appropriate insurance coverage, will find it necessary to prepare a claim for the loss. While this seems a simplistic assignment, it involves an understanding of insurance policies as well as loss calculation methodologies. These claims are contractual claims and, in most circumstances, are governed by the terms of the policy.
Marcie Bour has the necessary understanding to prepare these claims. She has extensive experience in preparing business damages and has worked on a number of claims.

Business Interruption Claims Workshop
Ms. Bour was moved by Hurricane Katrina to approach the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts about creating a workshop to educate professionals with the skills necessary to help businesses that have suffered losses due to a natural disaster. Working with a team of experienced professionals, she was the team leader in developing a three day workshop, Business Interruption Losses and Claims, which launched in January 2006 in Atlanta, Georgia. The workshop covers the fundamentals of business interruption insurance policy and claims, forensic reconstruction: how to gather the information, calculating business interruption claims, case studies and dealing with disaster.
